Dear Mayor and city council persons I’m requesting your support for item 3c on tonight’s agenda - Approval of
scope of work and authorization of an RFQ for Palms Springs Public Library and JC Frey building. This item received
unanimous support from the board of Trustees. This is a great opportunity for the citizens of Palm Springs young
and old.The state matching funds are under a strict timeline so time is of the essence any delays may affect funding .
Hopefully this is just the beginning and the scope will expand with additional funding.Let’s make our vision a reality
and why not have the Best Library. Thank you Craig Borba
Thank you,
City of Palm Springs

Dear mayor and city council.
I am writing as a former Libray board member and president of the Palm Springs library board
of trustees and a current board member of the library foundation. I encourage you to approve
the RFQ request for the Library renovation project. This is been a long gestating and delayed
process for this renovation. The library is in desperate need of critical infrastructure repair
that’s been long ignored by previous administration. This is a vital community resource that
should be protected and enhanced to serve the community. Benjamin Franklin said that the
libraries are the foundation of our democracy. Access to free information and education is a
vital resource.
Warm regards,
Ron Willison

Ms. Mayor and City Council Members, Regarding the agenda Item 3.C., I encourage you to approve and endorse the
proposal regarding the library renovation project as submitted by the Library Staff and Library Trustees to include
important renovation items currently non-funded by grants. As a member of the Palm Springs Public Library
Foundation board, I can say that we are strongly committed to pursuing fundraising activities to raise the amounts
needed to complete the entire project as envisioned by the Trustees and Staff. The board is confident that the
citizens, organizations and businesses, and visitors to our wonderful city will rally around this cause. Thank you for
your continued support of a great public library in Palm Springs! Sincerely, Bill Wylie Vice President Palm Springs
Public Library Foundation
Thank you,
