Dear mayor and city council. I am writing as a former Libray board member and president of the Palm Springs library board of trustees and a current board member of the library foundation. I encourage you to approve the RFQ request for the Library renovation project. This is been a long gestating and delayed process for this renovation. The library is in desperate need of critical infrastructure repair that’s been long ignored by previous administration. This is a vital community resource that should be protected and enhanced to serve the community. Benjamin Franklin said that the libraries are the foundation of our democracy. Access to free information and education is a vital resource.
