As a nine-year Villa Roma resident, I can personally attest to the positive affect the complex's architectural design has on our community. Central community assets facilitate recreation and human connection without sacrificing privacy. Each "row" of units maintains unifying architectural themes yet landscaping and hardscaping provide visual interest and diversity. Please contact me for a tour if you haven't experienced VIlla Roma yet personally. I would be delighted to show you what I refer to. Villa Roma deserves to stand as a role model for future condominium construction not only in Palm Springs but far beyond. Please vote for historic district designation of Villa Roma Garden Homes. Thank you. Thank you, City of Palm Springs This is an automated message generated by Granicus. PLEASE see the attachments to this e-mail!!! Last evening I looked out my front window and that is what I saw Directly across the street!! I want to know WHY this city that you all say is a 'Tourist Destination' this kind of activity is allowed? For one thing they DO NOT meet ANY of the health requirements that in house restaurants do, They are OPENAIR and you as a City require those at Cityfest to be enclosed. Food Trucks are not allowed in the city who MUST meet Health requirements, and yet you DO NOTHING about these fly by night venders. I DO NOT fault anyone wanting to make a living but if the rest of the City has to comply with rules, laws and ordinances, WHY is this allowed??? These stands, or whatever you want to call them are among many other things unsightly, unhealthy, safety concerns, fire hazards, etc. I observed last evening an OPEN Flame rising at least 2 feet into the evening. If that alone isn't a fire hazard I don't know what is! Also I observed that they were powering their lighting from SUV's parked on the other side of the wall, again another hazard. This 'stand' is NOT the only one that I have observed throughout the city over the last few weeks either at night or during the day. If those of us that are TAX paying residents have to live by the laws, rules and ordinances of the City then WHY hasn't this been taken care of??? 01/26/2023 Public Comment Non Agenda Concern Citizen Taxpayer of this City R Pietsch Sent from Mail for Windows 01/26/2023 Public Comment Non Agenda From:LetsAll@GoBananas.net To:Christopher Hadwin; Lindsey-Paige McCloy; City Clerk; David Newell Cc:"Bob Heinbaugh"; "Ashley Metzger"; CElliott@DWA.org; "Xochitl Peña"; Denise Goolsby; "Steve Grasha" Subject:Please ban new turf lawn installations in Palm Springs Date:Sunday, January 22, 2023 8:56:05 AM NOTICE: This message originated outside of The City of Palm Springs -- DO NOT CLICK on links or open attachments unless you are sure the content is safe. Dear City Council and staff, Sustainability Commissioners, Planning Commissioners, and Architectural Review Commissioners, CC; Desert Water Agency conservationists, RE: Please ban all new turf lawn installations in Palm Springs. Despite the recent rains, this historic drought is far from over, and water conservation is especially critical. One might think people are aware and sensitive to this fact, but apparently several aren’t. We are witnessing multiple new home builds and home renovations in Palm Springs where they are currently (past few weeks and months) installing new sod turf where previously there was either no landscaping, or no/low water use landscaping. This shocks the conscience. Please promote a total ban, or at least an urgent moratorium order, on all new turf installations and sale in Palm Springs. Everyone needs to learn and embrace the infinite possibilities of desert landscapes without turf, for which there are numerous fine examples in Palm Springs.
