What We Do
Broad statutory authority to support conservation of the
Coachella Valley and surrounding mountains
1.Land acquisition to preserve open space with habitat or
cultural or provide recreation

3.Grant programs for water-, recreation-and climate
change-related projects

Proposition 1 Grant Program

•$1.9 M remains; RFP released July 1 with
September 15 deadline

Prop 68 Grant Program
•Supports projects that provide outdoor recreation or
respond to climate change:
–Trails
–Interpretive Signage
–Shumway Ranch restoration
–Urban Greening
–Energy saving or VMT-reducing improvements
•$4.5 M left, applications accepted on continuous basis

Climate Resilience & Community Access
Grant Program
•Non capital activities like education, capacity building,
staff, etc.
•State general fund, not bonds
•Supports innovative projects that focus on outreach to
under served communities and climate resilience.
•$100,000 remains to be awarded, hope for more pending
state budget trailer bill in August.
