Frequently i get 1st hand proof of VIOLATIONS inside a large mixed use
''HOMELESS CTR. '' in
N. ORANGE COUNTY. The person who took this photo inside the FACILITY was
ordered to erase the picture.
They emailed it to me.
The incident was seen by STAFF [ IGNORED] and, by a paid security
guard... ''looked away''
while the lady in the photo was beaten and assaulted in daylight, INSIDE.
The occupants are openly drunk, covid infected, and mental; without care
24/7.
WE ARE DEMANDING A PLAN TO PROVIDE patrol and police and safety around and
inside the NEW

Palm Springs City Council and City Manager:
The Board of Directors of the Palm Springs Hospitality Association voted unanimously today to convey our
concerns about the vacation rental work group progress. As you know, the City Council held a study session
on vacation rentals on March 29, 2022. Instead of using our traditional Ad Hoc Committees, we are moving to
work group recommendations. Vacation Rentals is the first to deploy this new process. The council also
requested recommendations be made in a timely manner to afford the current Council an opportunity to vote
on Vacation Rental ordinance modifications prior to changes in the composition of the council at the end of
November.
Last Wednesday, July 6th, over three months since the March Council Study Session, information about the
composition of the work group, rules and procedures and applications were posted on the City website.
The website information also provided specific dates for a series of 5 meetings covering three topic items, a
review of the draft recommendations followed by a final set of recommendations at the end of
September. Applications for members of the community to be on the work group identified the meeting dates
and requested applicants be able to attend in-person only on those dates. The first of these meetings is next
Tuesday, July 19. As of today, no one has been contacted concerning their acceptance status to the work
group. Therefore, our specific concern is the City not acting quick enough to appoint where the
Council and City Attorney will not have time to craft and vote on ordinance changes. We would like
you to act with greater urgency on this issue. Additionally, we would like you to announce in a timely
manner, who will be selected to be pro, against or neutral on this issue.
We understand the need to review the ordinance that was last updated April 2017. However, all parties
involved have a right to meet and be given the time to work out as much as they can to come to a consensus,
where possible.
We are asking for transparency and requesting an update between Council and the City Manager on the work
groups progress.

Dear City clerk,
My partner and I are opposed to an increase to solid waste service rates. Palm Springs has been raising prices
in many of the departments where we have to pay taxes or increased rates to the city and if this trend
continues residents will get priced out of the city. PS already makes millions from taxes in short term vacation
rentals. The city should get creative in dispersing funds already brought in and not penalize the residents who
are working extremely hard to make a living.

Re: Future placement of the Frank Bogart statue in Palm Springs:
Has anyone in the PS City Government considered placing the Frank Bogart statue at /near the Bogart Trail starting
point?
It seems like that might be a fitting location, not only due to the statue and trail sharing his name, but also the fact that
the trail was evidently historically used as a horseback riding trail.

Thank you for receiving this comment.
We understand the need for periodic rate adjustments as costs increase, particularly with the new requirement to
separate and handle compostable materials. Since the city and its contractor seem to have figured out how much that
new requirement is going to cost, it would be nice to share with the residents how that is going to be accomplished so
we know what we are being asked to pay for.
We will be out of town the week of the public hearing, but would certainly hope information about whatever new
processes will be put in place for compostable material is shared more broadly. Admittedly, we are concerned about
collecting it over a weeks’ time in our desert heat in a way that won’t stink to high heaven.
