Lee Miller Class 2 William Purcell Residence, 1935 Architect William Gray Purcell Alterations to Historic Sites in Palm Springs Certificates of Appropriateness Owner-initiated changes to historic properties are reviewed by the City’s Historic Site Preservation Board. The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Structures provide guidelines. Changes respect the historic character of the site. Certificate of Appropriateness •City National Bank •Victor Gruen and Associates designed the original City National Bank in Palm Springs, now occupied by Bank of America. •Repaint to historic colors, landscape, ADA and security improvements. Demolition Request •Former Arenas Lodge •Does not meet the findings required to re-designate the property as a Class 1 or Class 2 historic site. Historic Site Preservation Board Annual Work Plan 1.
