On October 1, 2021, the Measure J Commission made an application available for individual citizens, neighborhood organizations, businesses and organizations in the City to submit projects
for consideration.
By the December 2, 2021, deadline for completed applications, 59 applications were submitted for review.
The Measure J Commissioners scored the proposals, and the projects were discussed by the full commission on January 20, 2022.
The Measure J Commission had public discussions on the recommended projects at their February 17, 2022 and March 17, 2022 commission meetings.
Based on the commission meetings the following table represents the projects recommended by the Measure J Commission for Measure J Community Initiated Projects funding.

8. Demuth Dog Park Upgrades to address immediate needs $362,500

11. Palm Canyon Theater Maintenance Repairs $280,575

Measure J – Capital Improvement Projects
On May 11 & 19, 2022, Staff met with the Measure “J” Commission to discuss the Five-Year CIP.
The Measure “J” Commission only reviewed the year one projects of the Five-Year CIP.
The recommendations by Staff and the Measure “J” Commission for year one of the Five-Year CIP are shown on the next table
The highlighted segments represent where the Measure J Commission and Staff have different Recommendations.
