schools [California Basic Educational Data Systems (CBEDS)]
•13,400 more students at COD and CSUSB PDC
(National Center for Education Statistics; CSUSB)
•Graduating students want to develop transferable
skills and gain experience to put on their resume

•Volunteer at nonprofit organizations
•Overall, options are limited for internships
•The City lacks an established channel to communicate
with new graduates
•Students are unaware of the opportunities that are
being offered

•Attempt to support residents of Palm Springs
•Consist of informational sessions that will be led by the
City’s departments
•Meetings will include an overview of each participating
department, opportunities that may be available, and
how to become a qualified candidate for those
positions
•Internship and shadowing opportunities can be
promoted

•Meetings will be promoted at CSUSB PDC with the
help of their Career Center
•PSAs can also be recorded and broadcast on their radio
station
•Scheduled to take place at Palm Springs High School, in
Fall 2022
•If possible, these meetings will be recorded and
published online

options and will not exceed $5,000; sufficient funding is
available in the current fiscal year City Manager budget
