Organic growth is inevitable but should be controlled and limited. This action is reckless and ignores the issue of the continued quality of life in our city, valley and especially those living in areas impacted by the airport and which you represent. IN SHORT, IT IS PANDERING TO THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR AT THE EXPENSE OF ALL THE CITIZENS YOU REPRESENT. There has been little or no movement to controlling noise and pollution from the airport. Words are cheap and some good words have been used in furtherance of this goal, but no noticeable actions have been taken. Now, actions have been taken that are contrary to controlling the airport to the extent possible. I think all cities in our valley would be concerned with unchecked growth, bringing us ever closer to an Orange County in the desert. All should get together and discuss controlled growth and quality of life issues. It’s apparent that most are not even sensitive to our environment as evidenced by the approval of resorts using our limited water resources. I guess we’ll have to see what the next election brings, perhaps a change in representation. Frederick E. Knauss Cc: Palm Springs City Council Enclave residents
