BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL

ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT RELATING TO URBAN LOT SPLITS AND TWO-UNIT PROJECTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at its meeting of January 26, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. NOTICE IS FURTHER HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of
the City of Palm Springs, California, will hold a public hearing at its meeting of January 27, 2022. Each meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 3200 East
Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs. Pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, these meetings may be conducted by teleconference and there will be no in-person public access to the meeting locations.

The purpose of these hearings is to consider an ordinance relating to urban lot splits and two-unit projects, pursuant to the adoption of Senate Bill 9 which was signed into law by Governor
Newsom on September 16, 2021. In accordance with state legislation, the ordinance allows for administrative approval of parcel maps for urban lot splits in single-family zones, and
allows housing developments containing no more than 2 residential units within a single-family residential zone to be considered ministerially.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: Under California Government Code sections 65852.21, subd. (j), and 66411.7, subd. (n), the adoption of an ordinance by a city or county implementing the
provisions of Government Code sections 66411.7 and 65852.21 and regulating urban lot splits and two-unit projects is statutorily exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act (“CEQA”).

Director, at Flinn.Fagg@palmspringsca.gov. Staff is available to answer questions by telephone at (760) 323-8245 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
COMMENT ON THIS APPLICATION: Response to this notice may be made as follows:
You may provide oral comments at the meeting by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at
(760) 323-8204 to be added to the public comment queue. You may be added to the queue at any time prior to the end of the public comment period for the subject hearing. At the appropriate
time, a staff member will call you so that you may provide your public testimony to the City Council.
Written comments may be submitted to the City Council by email at cityclerk@palmspringsca.gov or letter to the address below. Transmittal prior to the start of the meeting is required.
Any correspondence received during or after the meeting will be distributed to the City Council as soon as practicable and retained for the official record.

Any challenge of the proposed project in court may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered
to the City Clerk at, or prior, to the public hearing. (Government Code Section 65009[b][2]).
