Subject: Case 21-003 MUR (Agenda Item #1Q)
Action by the Historic Site Preservation Board
The Historic Site Preservation Board reviewed the request for the installation of a mural
at the Town & Country Center at their meeting of September 29, 2021, and voted to
approve the request as follows:
Grant the certificate of appropriateness for a temporary mural on the south
wall of 169 N. Indian Canyon Drive, subject to the following:
• The board conditioned the certificate that the mural may remain until
such time that the HSPB grants a Certificate of Appropriateness for
renovations associated with re -use of the building or five years,
whichever comes first.
In the event a Certificate of Appropriateness application does NOT come
in within five years for renovation/reuse of the building, the Board will
take up consideration of a certificate of appropriateness to possibly
extend the term that the mural may remain in place beyond the initial
five years.
With approval of the certificate of appropriateness by the Historic Site Preservation Board,
the Public Arts Commission and City Council may move forward in taking action on the
mural application as may be appropriate.
