COUNCIL COMMENTS/QUESTIONS/REPORTS Councilmembers commented on various civic functions attended. F. CITY MANAGER COMMENTS – None G. STUDY SESSION 1. DISCUSSION OF VALLEY WIDE ANIMAL CAMPUS Corky Larson, CVAG; Aurora Kerr, CVAG; Council Member Jean Benson, Palm Desert; Mike Russell, Animal Shelter; Council Member Robert Gomer, Cathedral City; were present to review the status of the Valley Wide animal Campus concept; a power point presentation was made, copy attached. Following the presentation Ms. Larson pledged, should Palm Springs participate, a shuttle service from Palm Springs to the Animal Shelter proposed site of Thousand Palms; that included in the Shelter will be veterinarian services and grooming services; that the shelter will be for domestic animals, no large animals such as cows or horses; that the proposed site is 5 acres; that one thought is to have Palm Springs hold its own animals for 3 – 4 days before committing them to the shelter; that they are held for a time certain before being put down. Councilmember Hodges requested the matter be placed on an action agenda for consideration. 2. FINALIZATION OF AGENDA City Manager stated that request by Councilmember Hodges to determine how items are placed on the agenda; that there are two types of issues, administrative and policy issues; and reviewed handout. Oden stated that what the current practice is works and should be kept. Reller-Spurgin concurred. Councilmember Jones stated that recently there have been no problems with response to Council requests for matters to be on the agenda. Mayor stated that the consensus is to leave well enough alone and keep the process as it is. ADJOURNMENT
