1. WALK OF STARS
Assistant City Manager reviewed a handout, copy attached and added that the
maintenance fund is of issue; that the intent was to have a fund set apart and to
review the funding annually to see if expenditures were being met; that although
$25.00 has been set aside, the fund has not been reviewed and that the expense
of upkeep of the stars is not being met; that the fund currently has about $1,600
in it; that full maintenance costs for a star has not been analyzed; that the
contract has expired and does need to9 be updated; that currently no one is
tracking the event from City staff side to be sure that when an event is held that it
is coordinated with the city; and that the future contract will be assigned to the
Director of Downtown Development.
Mayor stated that the following items are needed for Council review: Board
Member list, updated insurance certificates; copy of inventory of placed starts;
status of upkeep and funds available in the maintenance fund and costs for
upkeep of the stars.
Council consensus to continue contract as in place with director to Mr. Franzell to
proceed in the same manner and that the item will be further reviewed at a future
date.
