NON -AGENDA ITEM (LEASE OF THE PLAZA THEATRE)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
$1.6 Million sounds nice to any venue currently not receiving any stimulus. However, even though the Plaza Theatre
started out as a movie theater, with the premiere of "Camille" I do not think it wise to lease the property for as little as
$64,000 a year, which is $1.6 Million spread over the proposed 25-year period. Does Palm Springs need another movie
theater? Such attention could be turned to the Palm Springs Cultural Center as it already houses what I imagine the Film
Festival Chair to replicate. What dilemma does the city face if it violates its leasing terms for when future
restorations/renovations cause closures of the space that would occur throughout a 25-year agreement?
Also consider this: The Plaza Theatre, with much success, housed live talent and would briefly only feature Stars
amongst the PS community, without asking them to save the theater they were asked to perform at, such as the Plaza
Theatre or other theaters in the valley. They like others have moved to PS to retire and enjoy what PS has to offer, so
leave people like Suzanne Somers and Gary Oldman out of this until the theater itself has had some small successes. If
our PS community and other surrounding communities really want to see the Plaza Theatre active and running... like I
know I do... then we shouldn't have to ride on the shoulders of giants to see it through.
My name is Erik Scott Romney.

Test Results from July 202
Palm Springs is one of many agencies voluntarily sampling i
SARS-COV-2 in the community. A person will usually shed ft
a day or two of infection, and then symptoms may show up
To do the test, the City takes 24-hour composite samples fro
and sends them via dry ice to GT Molecular, a testing labor,
analysis.

Members, now that the inflammatory Floyd mural is hidden because of remodeling, please think very very
carefully before approving of any location in PS for its re emergence.
This mural is an affront to any sane black or white person. Floyd died under wrongful circumstances but he is
NOT a martyr. He was a career criminal from a young age, just go to Y ouTube video when he was 16 in front
of a judge Judy when he thought it was ok to assault a woman, steal her car, crash it and deny responsibility for
any damage. He is the one that pulled a gun on a pregnant woman!
He is NOT what PS or any sane community is about.
The local artist who was on TV said he thinks the mural sends a message that people of color are accepted in the
community, whaaaat?
There are more black folk than there ever was in PS he must be blind.
At the same time the City are thinking of taking down the Bogart statute, a person who did good for PS, why oh
why would you have a mural of a career criminal on any wall in PS?
If the community want black representation choose someone like MLK or a person of stature in the local
community who has helped people here, dare I say it even Ron Oden , the first gay black mayor of any city in
the USA, who represented the actual community.
Please do not waste any money on a Floyd mural, he is NOT a person who did anything in his life to be
admired, and is definitely not a person any young person should look up to and it will always be a very
inflammatory message to the community.
Just vote no no no!
Kind Regards,
Andrew Archdale

Palm Springs city Council Members and Palm Springs Mayor, My husband and I are in full support of the HAWK Pedestrian Activated
Crosswalk on E. Racquet Club Rd and N. Via Miraleste (Agenda Section N). For years now, E. Racquet Club road has seen a drastic
increase in traffic (cars and 18-wheelers) which is putting pedestrians/bicyclist at risk in our neighborhood daily. Cars and Trucks are
ignoring the current signage, such as the speed-limit, and the yield for pedestrian signs. We have seen multiple times pedestrians
and bicyclist dodging oncoming traffic as they attempt to cross this dangerous intersection. Most importantly, Vista Del Monte and
Victoria Park reside on this dangerous road, and having this Pedestrian Activated Crosswalk will help protect the safety of the
neighborhood. Lastly, we hope the city considers a road diet for E. Racquet Club Rd to help reduce noise/car pollution and ultimately
improve the safety/quality of life for our residential neighborhood.
Thank you,
City of Palm Springs

Subject: Save PS golf
I am sending this email to voice my extreme objection to the idea of selling our public golf courses. Golf is one of reasons
a lot of toursist come to PS. Not to mention a lot of people retire here for it too. It would be a lot like Aspen or Vail Co
selling their ski lifts. It's just dumb thinking in a lot of residents minds. If the courses are not profitable, consider new
management first before making such a drastic and perhaps community destructive measure. Thank
you. David Mottler

George Floyd Mural

Hello Mr Mejia, et all,
Once again would like to voice our opinion regarding sn issue the council will be taking up.
We oppose moving and or keeping the George Floyd Mural. Please do not get us wrong. We are saddened by
what happened to him and justice is being served the best it can.
However, he really is not a "hero".
There are so many other people of the black community that would be worthy of a permanent or semi
permanent memorial.
Please do not do this to our town. It actually looks foolish, and reflects badly on our common sense.
No one that we know felt what happened to him was right. This is not about that. I believe you can both feel
this way and still not think he should have a memorial over so many deserving individuals.
Thanks again for listening.
