HomeMy WebLinkAbout24915RESOLUTION NO. 24915 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING AN APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 ENDING ON JUNE 30, 2022. WHEREAS, the voters approved the Gann Spending Limitation Initiative (Proposition 4) on November 6, 1979, adding Article XIIIB to the Constitution of the State of California to establish and define annual appropriation limits on state and local government entities, including the City of Palm Springs; and WHEREAS, Chapter 120-5 of the Revenue and Taxation Code Section 7910 (which incorporates California Senate Bill 1352) provides for the implementation of Article XIII B; and WHEREAS, the required calculation to determine the Appropriations Limit for Fiscal Year 2021 — 2022 ending on June 30, 2022, has been performed by the Finance Department of the City of Palm Springs based on available information using current guidelines provided by the State Department of Finance; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Springs desires to formally adopt that appropriations limit for the City; and WHEREAS, the options for calculation will be California Per Capita Income and the City of Palm Springs population growth. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. In accordance with Article XIII B of the Constitution of the State of California, the appropriations limit for the City of Palm Springs for Fiscal Year 2021 — 2022 ending on June 30, 2022, is $192,947,738 as represented on the calculation included herewith as Attachment "A".
