HomeMy WebLinkAboutPresentation - 2A AppealAppeal –2610 Winter Sun DriveAgenda Item #2A Case #3.4206 MAJ May 6, 2021 DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT Appeal •Construction of 4,276 square foot single-family residence at Desert Palisades development •Planning Commission approved at meeting of 3/10/21 on the consent calendar, subject to conditions DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT Appeal Applicant is requesting removal of two conditions related to development standards: •PLN 2: Residence shall not encroach the side yard setback area •PLN 3: Pool cabana shall be limited to 150 SF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT Condition PLN 2:Southwest corner of house projects 4.07’ into required setback Condition PLN 2 Palm Springs Zoning Code Section 93.01.00(F): “Cornices, canopies, eaves, shed-roof eaves, belt courses, sills, balconies, unenclosed stairways, chimneys, wind walls and other similar architectural features...may extend into a required side or rear yard not more than four (4) inches for each one (1) foot of width of such required side or rear yard.” DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT Condition PLN 3:Pool cabana limited to 150 SF in floor area (actual area ≈ 175 SF) Appeal •Staff recommends denial of the appeal •Appropriate process would be to file a Variance application for both elements DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT Appeal –2610 Winter Sun DriveAgenda Item #2A Case #3.4206 MAJ May 6, 2021 DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT
