We are seeing a consistent trend of higher COVID presence in
wastewater on Mondays vs. Tuesdays
Tuesday, March 30, 2021 = 38,648 (229 cases) *compares to 41
active cases as reported by Riverside County
Monday, March 29, 2021 = 91,725 (377 cases)
Tuesday, March 23, 2021 = 96,309 (516 cases)
Monday, March 22, 2021 = 186,856 (1,104 cases)
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 = 50,881 (289 cases)
Monday, March 15, 2021 = 126,894 (749 cases)
We are testing for presence of 2 mutations found in UK Variant, with
these mutations also in other hyper-transmissible Variants.
Tuesday, March 30, 2021 = Detected* only 1 mutation at very low
amount
Monday, March 29, 2021 = Detected
Tuesday, March 23, 2021 = Detected
Monday, March 22, 2021 = Detected
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 = Detected
Monday, March 15, 2021 = Detected
The presence of both of these mutations is a strong indicator that the
UK variant or possibly another, related and yet to be defined variant, is
circulating in the City.
It is important to remain vigilant and continue to use face masks,
social distancing and other measures to prevent the spread of COVID
EVEN AS WE REOPEN OUR ECONOMY AND GET VACCINATED.
